Seminars topic: This lecture addresses the challenges and academic issues in cultural tourism research within the context of China’s rural revitalization strategy. It emphasizes interdisciplinary theoretical innovation, exploring how cultural tourism research can integrate with rural development, cultural heritage, and tourism management to contribute to both theoretical advancement and practical policy-making.
Scholars Background: JIN Jinbo is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at South China University of Technology, a national expert for major projects of the National Social Science Foundation of China, and a specialist in higher education tourism management under the Ministry of Education. He is Vice Chair of the Teaching Steering Committee of Tourism Management in Guangdong Province, Dean of the Nanfang Institute of Cultural Industry, and Director of the Guangzhou Cultural and Tourism Integration Development Base. His research focuses on tourism innovation, regional tourism development, and tourism geography. He has presided over four projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Social Science Foundation, six provincial projects, and more than 80 horizontal projects. He has published over 60 academic papers and received multiple awards, including the Second Prize for Outstanding Achievements in Education Research in Guangdong Province and the Second Prize for Outstanding Achievements in Philosophy and Social Sciences in Guangdong Province. In 2023, he was awarded “Outstanding Researcher of China Cultural Tourism Think Tank” by CTTI. He also serves as Vice President of the Guangdong Rural Tourism Association, Expert Advisor to the Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government, and reviewer for journals such as Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research.
