JWEF 2014 in Hangzhou

With the theme of "Entrepreneurship, No age, No limit”, 2014 Junior World Entrepreneurship Forum (JWEF) was held in Zhejiang University, Hangzhou on April 12. Students of the Global Entrepreneurship Program (GEP) organized this event and over 300 young entrepreneurs, students, and university professors participated.


After the opening ceremony, all participants were engaged in keynote speeches, workshops, and pitch competitions. Ms. FANG Qin, CEO of Kadang.com, Mr. LI Xiang, founder of Rejoin Technology Co., Ltd., CHEN Weixing, founder of KuaidiDache (first Chinese taxi-hailing APP with a tipping function), and Mr. Jack Sim, founder of World Toilet Organization (WTO) shared their own success stories and views regarding the entrepreneurship.

The Pitch session was the most important part of the Forum. 22 teams made their way to the finals and presented their entrepreneurial ideas. A number of entrepreneurs got positive feedback from the investors and opportunities for winning venture capital.


As a global initiative derived from the World Entrepreneurship Forum (WEF), JWEF is a community of students and young entrepreneurs that promotes and accelerates “junior entrepreneurship globally as a way to create wealth and social justice.” Since 2008, JWEF has taken place in over 20 countries with more than 1,000 students participating in over 100 lectures and 400 workshops.
