Zhejiang University Welcomes European Union Delegation for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Exchange

On November 24, 2025, Zhejiang University welcomed a delegation of European Union ambassadors and embassy representatives to the Zijingang Campus for a day of exchange centered on innovation, entrepreneurship, and university-industry links.

 Discussion on Zhejiang University’s innovation ecosystem and industry collaboration

The visit began with a meeting between the EU delegation and Prof. MA Yanming, President of Zhejiang University, held at the Alumni Building on the Zijingang Campus. The meeting was moderated by Prof. LIANG Junying, Director of the Office of Global Engagement, and included welcome remarks from President Ma and Mr. Michael Starbaek Christensen, Ambassador of Denmark, followed by an open discussion and group exchange.

During the roundtable on innovation and entrepreneurship, which brought together university leadership, researchers, and alumni entrepreneurs. Prof. WU Xiaobo, Director of the National Institute for Innovation Management and former Dean of ZJUSOM, presented an overview of Zhejiang University’s innovation ecosystem, highlighting the links between research, talent development, and industry engagement. Alumni entrepreneurs Mr. LE Yang, Assistant President of SUPCON Technology, and Mr. ZHANG Yatao, Europe Market Director of DeepRobotics, shared industry perspectives based on their experience in technology development and international markets.

Beyond the discussions, the delegation joined faculty members, alumni, and EU students for informal exchanges and participated in a campus tour, including a visit to the Innovation Practice Base for Robotics and Intelligent Equipment.
