Application of Generative AI and Large Language Models in Empirical Research on Operations Management

Seminars topic:  This lecture will delve into the prospects and applications of generative artificial intelligence and large language models in empirical research on operations management. The session will systematically explain the core principles and structural characteristics of related technologies, focusing on their applications in business data analysis, decision process modeling, and innovative research settings. The discussion aims to provide faculty and students with methodological insights and professional references.

Scholars Background:  Professor WU Yixin is a tenured professor and doctoral advisor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School, and the Associate Director of the Asian Institute of Supply Chains & Logistics at CUHK. He is also a principal investigator for multiple analytics-related projects, including service analytics and business analytics. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Southern California and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. His research interests include global supply chain risk, corporate operations and finance, business analytics, and human resource management. His work has been published in top-tier journals such as M&SOM, Information Systems Research, and Management Science. He has served as a reviewer for journals like Operations Research and Manufacturing & Service Operations Management (MSOM), and as a visiting scholar at institutions such as the Federal Reserve Bank (FED), International Monetary Fund (IMF), and Asian Development Bank (ADB). He also has professional experience as a venture investor.
