Scholars Background: Dr. ZHANG Xiaoyue is an Associate Professor at the University of Nottingham in the UK. She also serves as the deputy director of the Sustainable Travel and Tourism Advanced Research Centre (STTAR Centre) at the university and is the course director for the MSc in International Tourism Marketing Management program. Her research primarily focuses on social and political changes, particularly their impact on social identity and self-identity in the context of international tourism. With extensive experience working with destination marketing organizations and cultural heritage organizations, she is dedicated to expanding their audience. In her research, Dr. Zhang employs various methodologies, including critical discourse analysis, semiotic analysis, interpretive phenomenology, mixed methods, and survey design. She has published a total of 32 articles, with 12 of them appearing in high-level journals classified as ABS Level 4.
