PIEGL (Program of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Global Leadership) is a new program jointly launched by the School of Management and International Campus, Zhejiang University. 33 students from 24 nations make up the first cohort. On 13 September 2017, these new students and faculty representatives participated in the opening ceremony.
Professor SONG Yonghua – Vice President of the university, Vice Dean of the International Campus - Prof. HE Lianzhen, and the Dean of School of Management - Prof. WEI Jiang gave a welcome speech to the audiences, addressing the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship education and internationalization of higher education in Hangzhou. Meantime, PIEGL students will be benefited from the regional features – the center of internet-based industry throughout the 2-year program study. As a leading business school, Zhejiang University School of Management has a competitive advantage in innovation and entrepreneurship education and research both domestically and overseas. Nowadays, PIEGL is the first program that focuses on innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership in China.
Two PIEGL student representatives expressed their expectations to the audience and shared their dream and plan for the future. Their words represent the most students who join the program – to learn the theory and knowledge, to practice within a multicultural team and a fast developed society, and hopefully to lead the industry and better the world as an entrepreneur.
PIEGL Program
To share opportunities and interests through opening-up and achieve win-win outcomes, the School of Management, Zhejiang University has devoted itself to offering a new Master of Science (M.S.) Program in Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Global Leadership (PIEGL). The new program is designed for recent graduates from international prominent universities, with the aim of nurturing future business leaders who can obtain a deeper understanding of the emerging markets and work in global or multicultural contexts.
In this program, students are expected to acquire comprehensive knowledge about leadership philosophy and frontier management practices in China and other emerging markets, think systemically and collaborate with diverse people across a multicultural context, and get practical, hands-on experience, so they can learn to solve business problems in an innovative and entrepreneurial way. students will sharpen not only leadership skills but also perspectives indispensable for a truly global innovator.
