About the Speaker: Latif Al-Hakim is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of South Australia and Associate Professor of Operation Management at the University of Southern Queensland. He received his first degree in Industrial Engineering in 1968. His MSc (1977) in Industrial Engineering and PhD (1983) in Management Science were awarded from the University of Wales (UK). He has published extensively in system analysis, information quality and health informatics. He is the author and editor of fifteen books, fourteen chapters in books and more than 120 papers in various journals and conference proceedings. Al-Hakim is the founder of the first international journal on information quality “The International Journal of Information Quality” and associate editor of the “International journal of Networking and Virtual Organisations”. Latif has conducted technology transfer training courses and seminars in various fields and has consulted to a number of major organisations in Australia. As a result of his work in patient safety in operating rooms, Al-Hakim has awarded Honorary Senior Lecturer in the Division of Surgery, Medical School at Imperial College, London.
