Abstract: With his rich experience and knowledge on Property Management, Mr. Ruud Peters will share his knowledge and insights on various hot topics with the participants, such as R&D, the relationship between intellectual property and its standard, and the intellectual property management of Multinational Enterprises.etc.
About the Speaker: Ruud J. Peters is widely recognized as one of the current thought leaders in IP. He was appointed Chief Intellectual Property Officer (CIPO) of Philips in 1999, in which position he was responsible for managing the worldwide IP portfolio and the technical and formal standardization activities of Royal Philips. Mr. Peters turned the IP organization of Philips from a cost center into a successful profit and loss operation, while at the same time integrating all the different IP activities within various parts of the company into one IP organization. He expanded the IP and standards organization into a global operation with offices in more than 10 countries around the world with more than 500 employees.
He joined the Philips organization in 1977. He retired in his role as CIPO at the end of 2013, but continues to work for Philips as part-time advisor in strategy and IP matters. Mr. Peters is also a board member of a number of technology/IP licensing/trading companies. Mr. Peters was inducted into the IP Hall of Fame in 2010.
