"The difficulties in and suggestions on Doubling the Income of Both Urban and Rural Residents in China," written by Prof. HUANG Zuhui, Dean of the China Academy for Rural Development and the Director of Center for Agricultural and Rural Development (China Academy for Rural Development, CARD) of Zhejiang University, was selected “2013 Excellent Expert Proposal” by Department of Social Science, Ministry of Education recently.
The report analyses the difficulties of doubling the income of both urban and rural residents in China from five aspects, including how to double the income of low-income group, how to achieve double growth in income while narrowing the income gap, how to break through the constraint of property right system on rural land, housing and other resources, how to reducing the conflict between income rising and increasing cost pressure faced by the enterprises, and how to turn the investments into income and consumption. In response, Prof. HUANG suggested that the government should work on improving Chinese’s employment income, transferability income, and property income.
HUANG Zuhui is a Qiu Shi distinguished professor and doctoral tutor. He has numerous social functions, such as the Vice President of Chinese Rural Cooperative Economic Management Institute, the committee member of Ministry of Education higher school of economics and management, forestry education committee, committee member of Zhejiang provincial government advisory committee and so on. Over the past decade, Professor HUANG has presided more than 30 provincial, national, and international level cooperation projects, including 5 projects from National Natural Science Foundation and 1 National Social Science Fund Project. At the same time, Professor HUANG won more than 10 provincial and national level awards, publishing more than 300 papers and over 20 books.
Prof. HUANG Zuhui
