ZJU-SOM Publishes 2014 Index for Healthy China Business

On June 9, 2014, the School of Management Zhejiang University launched a press conference for 2014 Index for Healthy China Business, which revealed the ”healthiness” of state-owned enterprises, private enterprises, and foreign invested enterprises. This report showed that less government intervention is the best means to enhance market health.


Attended guests included GAO Shangquan, Honorary President of China Society of Economic Reform (CSER), WU Xiaobo, Dean of the School, CHEN Ling, Associate Dean of the School, FENG Xi, Vice President of Horizon Research Consultancy Group, BEN Shenglin, Director of EMBA Program Office of the School, and KANG Jian, Executive Editor of Forbes (Chinese Version). Senior Associate Dean of the School BAO Dihong hosted the conference. Moreover, there were about 20 media organizations gathered in Zhejiang University to witness this important moment.


Mr. GAO Shangquan delivered a speech firstly. He said innovation was the most important key to the healthy development of businesses, and government needed to provide better service for businessmen. Also he hoped that the School could publish the report continuously and make it an influential brand in academic research.


And then, Mr. GAO Shangquan launched the release of 2014 Index for Healthy China Business together with Prof. WU Xiaobo. Prof. WU introduced the key discoveries in the 2014 Index and said that the School would  continue to follow the path of "cultivating the healthy power leading the future of China." In addition, Prof. WU made a brief analysis of entrepreneurs, corporate behaviors, and the health conditions of business environment in different regions.


In the Q & A session, Prof. WU Xiaobo, Prof. CHEN Ling, and Mr. FENG Xi communicated with the journalists present. Whats more, "Enterprise Health Evaluation" APP would be ready to download in online stores. Entrepreneurs could use the index to self-evaluate the conditions of their businesses.
