Incentivizing the Content Creator When Tasks Can Be Delegated to Artificial Intelligence
2025-07-30

Seminars topic: The rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) provides creators with substantial tools when contributing content to platforms, but also raises challenges when human creators overly delegate tasks to AI to reduce costs. This presentation introduces a game-theoretic model to explore how platforms can adjust revenue-sharing levels to incentivize human creators. Findings reveal that: (1) when delegation effectively improves output, platforms should reduce the revenue-sharing level, as AI partially substitutes for the creator; (2) when delegation fails to improve output, platforms should increase revenue-sharing to encourage human effort on tasks AI struggles with; (3) excessively strong AI may harm both platforms and broader stakeholders by causing creators to excessively shirk effort, thereby reducing overall welfare.
