Workshop’s Topic: This talk provides a comprehensive overview of state-of-the-art research in artificial intelligence (AI) within the tourism and hospitality sectors. The speaker will begin by summarizing two main areas of AI research: AI as a service agent and AI as a methodological tool. By reviewing the existing AI literature, the speaker will outline research gaps and future directions for each area. At the end of the session, the speaker will discuss contemporary challenges and opportunities related to AI in tourism and hospitality, identifying meaningful research questions for future studies.
Scholars Background: Prof. Rob Law is the Chair Professor of Smart Tourism at the University of Macau Development Foundation. He serves as the Regional Editor of the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, the Managing Editor of the Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research, and a Guest Editor for Tourism Management.
