Workshop’s Topic: In this seminar, I will present a novel theoretical model that suggests employees’ responses to their leaders in adulthood are influenced by their childhood socialization experiences. This model provides insight into the variability of employee reactions to identical leadership behaviors. Our research opens new avenues for exploring the socialization origins of individuals’ leadership experiences. I will present a series of empirical studies conducted by my former PhD student, Dr. Leni Chen, which largely support our key propositions.
