The 2015 International Summer School was held by the School of Management, Zhejiang University at Zijingang Campus from June 21st to July 9th. A total of 27 students from 10 countries and 9 partner universities joined the program this year. 12 students from the School also joined as volunteers and learning buddies. The Dean of the School Prof. Xiaobo WU attended the opening ceremony and gave a welcome speech.

The 3-week program consists of three major parts: academic lectures, cultural immersion activities and company visits. Participants gained a wide range of entrepreneurship knowledge from lectures held by 11 professors, topics including Big Data in China, Family Business in China, Global Innovation in China etc. Besides, they had a chance to explore Chinese culture by leaning Chinese calligraphy, Chinese Tai Chi, visiting the West Lake, Wuzhen and Song Dynasty Town. What’s more, they had business trips to Alibaba and Dream Town to have more vivid experience of Chinese entrepreneurship. Throughout the program, participants were guided by 6 mentors from the School of Management academically. They also became close friends with our helpful volunteers.

On the closing ceremony, participants were grouped into 6 teams, each presented a business project based on their observation and learning. The group named “HOMETOWN” won the first place due to their unique idea and excellent cooperation. All the participants and volunteers were awarded with certificates. The Associate Dean of the School Prof. ZHOU Weihua concluded the ceremony. He mentioned that the program was successfully held to initiate participants’ entrepreneurial skills, stir their inspirations, help them learn more about Chinese culture, and make connection with business partners from all over the world.
